Cyclone separator · mechanical condensate separation with no consumables
A cyclone separator removes water droplets from the air stream by centrifugal force — with no filter element, so there is neither a replacement cost nor a rise in pressure drop.
It is normally installed immediately downstream of the compressor aftercooler or the receiver, where the volume of condensate is greatest.
An automatic drain that discharges the separated water from the system always goes with the separator.
